Authorities arrest man after crime spree

Austin County authorities arrested a Sealy man April 9 in connection with a series of crimes in the area. Joseph Mesa, 35, of Sealy, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery (first degree felony), deadl y con duct (third degree felony), aggravated kidnapping (first degree felony), aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (second degree felony), attempted murder (second degree felony) and interference with an emergency call (class A misdemeanor).

The Austin County Grand Jury returned indictments against nine people in the March 27 session. Those indicted include: Roderick Cook for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon Lyvan Ferro-Plasencia for fraudulent use of identifying information with 50 or more items and fraudulent use of credit or debit card 50 or more times Cameron Wayne Herzog for driving while being intoxicated for a third or more time Jacob Timothy Janish for two counts of invasive visual recording, producing sexual performance by a child under 14 and possession of child pornography with over 500 visual depictions Damedrick Deshawn Lane for possession of a controlled substance Chirstopher Leon Mancle for possession of a controlled substance Glenn Allen Meyer for indecency with child involving sexual contact Nicole Yvetta Miller for possession of a controlled substance Xander Lee Richard for possession of a controlled substance Rafael Porras Salinas for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon Jonathon Stilwell for possession of a controlled substance Teresa Lourdes Tamez for theft of property with two or more previous convictions.
