Wesley Norman “Buddy” McShan Jr., 64, passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2018, at his home in Sealy, Texas.
Buddy was born on August 7, 1953 in Weimar, Texas to Wesley Norman “Joe” and Florence (Horn) McShan. He attended Sheridan schools and graduated from Sealy High School (1971) where he excelled in football, baseball, and FFA. Buddy then graduated from Sam Houston State University (1978) with a bachelor of business administration degree. He enjoyed playing rugby during college and years thereafter. Buddy began his working career in the oil industry and spent the past 25 years in valve manufacturing, working for Mogas Industries the past 20 years. Buddy worked as he lived, building relationships wherever he went, be it his own hometown or across the globe.
Buddy married Melaney Laine Davis on June 21, 1986 in Sealy; they have two adult children, Wesley Norman McShan III and Paige A’Laine (PAL) McShan. Buddy loved coaching his kids in sports, whether it be baseball or softball, and enjoyed supporting them in many activities; he supported Melaney through her interests as well.
Buddy is survived by Melaney, his wife of 31 years, son Wesley and his wife Aubrey (Zimmerman), his daughter Paige, his sisters Julia Johnston and JoLynn Reynolds (Joe), and a brother, Michael Jay (Darla Dean) McShan. He leaves behind nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Buddy will forever be cherished and remembered as a loving man who welcomed everyone with open arms. He will be truly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Christian City Fellowship (Sealy) on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Christian City Fellowship - Noviskie missionary fund.
