Warren Conner was born August 14, 1932 in Austin County to George and Frieda Conner. He grew up in Houston but as a teenager moved back to the farm of his grandparents, Frank and Addie Kollatschny. He graduated from Sealy High School in 1950 and was a Korean War veteran.
He attended Arlington State College and Southern Methodist University, where he received his law degree. In 1955 he married SuZanne Rosser. Together they raised two daughters, Connie (Michael Clark) and Cathy (Daniel Sumner). SuZanne (Suzie) passed away in 1992.
After a brief stint in Friona, Texas, he established a law firm in Sealy, which grew to several attorneys with a branch office in Brenham.
Warren married Sharon Welch in 1978 and lived with her on an acreage near Cat Spring, where he enjoyed rural life and hosted many friends.
He was an ordained Elder and member of several Texas and Louisiana Presbyterian churches. Warren was on the Board of Directors of First National Bank of Sealy and a member of the Masonic Order, the Cat Spring Agricultural Society and other civic organizations.
His later years were spent in the Veterans Home in Jennings, La., where he died Dec. 15, 2018. In addition to his first wife, he was predeceased by both parents, brother George L. Conner, and sister Louise Hulsey. He is survived by his wife Sharon of Lake Charles, LA; his daughters and their children, Warner and Rachel Clark of Houston and Suzanne and Danielle Sumner of Matthews, NC; stepchildren Christina and Caleb Jeffers and their children of Lake Charles, LA; and two brothers William T. Conner of Fort Myers, FL and Maurice Conner of Omaha, Neb.
Services will be held January 5, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Veterans Home chapel, 1610 Evangeline Road, Jennings, LA 70546. Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church, 305 West Hudspeth St., Welsh, La. 70591 or to Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home.
