Plans are underway for the Don’t Mess with Sealy Trash Off event Saturday, April 6.
The event, organized by Sealy City Council members Dee Anne Lerma and Jennifer Sullivan, is an effort to beautify the community. It’s set for 9 a.m. to noon.
“The team that collects the most bags of litter wins bragging rights and the trophy trash can filled with candy,” Sullivan said.
Lunch will be donated by Whataburger. Sponsors SNC Lavalin and Texas Disposal Systems are providing snacks, drinks, supplies and collection containers.
Organizers have asked that groups planning to participate register by March 29. Registration forms are posted at The Sealy News website.
Trash bags, gloves, water and maps of the assigned clean-up area will be provided.
“Teamwork is why I love Sealy,” Lerma said after last year’s event. “It is filled with great people and city employees. Completing the Trash Off makes Sealy eligible for future beautification grants.”
