Texas Farm Credit breaks ground on new building

BRENHAM — Texas Farm Credit Services held a groundbreaking ceremony May 7 at the site of its future Brenham office.

The new office, to be located at 1301 U.S. Highway 290 East, will replace the current Brenham branch office and will also serve as another regional administrative location for the rural lending cooperative. At 6,000 square feet, the building will house agricultural lending officers, home mortgage staff and administrative personnel, while also including conference space for meetings, regional training and customer appreciation events. The additional space will also allow the association to host larger community events.

The design will reflect the industries that Texas Farm Credit serves, paying homage to farmers and ranchers by casting the silhouette of a classic Texas farmstead, like those seen across the landscape of the local area. The building is scheduled for completion in mid-2019.

“Texas Farm Credit has an exceptional team dedicated to serving the financial needs of the farmers, ranchers and landowners of the region,” said Abby Frank, Brenham branch manager. “This new office building will allow us to continue to grow and better serve our customers and this community.”

Texas Farm Credit finances agricultural operations, agribusinesses, homes and rural real estate, and offers a variety of insurance services. Headquartered in Robstown, Texas, it serves 100 Texas counties and is part of the Farm Credit System, a nationwide network of rural lending cooperatives established in 1916.
