SAN ANTONIO – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office for Bexar County will present “A Taste of Fiesta” from 10 a.m. to noon April 28 in San Antonio.
The program will be in suite 208 of the Conroy Square office complex, 3355 Cherry Ridge Drive. Presenters will be David Rodriguez, horticulture, and Angie Gutierrez, family and community health, both AgriLife Extension agents serving Bexar County.
“Attendees will learn about different types of peppers and tomatoes and engage in a hands-on activity for making their own homemade salsa,” Rodriguez said.
He said at this year’s program attendees will break off into groups to prepare and demonstrate the salsa recipe they made.
“They will be using different equipment such as the molcajete, food processor and sauce pan,” Gutierrez said. “Taste tests will be conducted on the spot by dipping salsa with a variety of whole, multigrain and vegetable chips.”
The cost is $20 per person and registration deadline is April 25. Checks or money orders will be accepted.
“This is the second year we have offered this program and we got a really good response last year,” Gutierrez said. “And as with last year, seating is limited, so we ask that attendees please RSVP as soon as possible.”
