Sealy football

7th grade B team defeated Bay City by a score of 33-12. Offensive standouts were Colby Eschenburg and Max Wickens. Defensive players of the game were Andres Flores and Eduardo Gomez. B team is now 4-1 on the season. 

7th grade A team defeated Bay City by a score of 39-0. Scoring was led by Damyrion Phillps and D`vonne Hmielewski. Both players had multiple big plays for touchdowns. Defensive standouts were Mason Klotz, Lucas Zapalac and Richard Hahn. A team is now 5-0 on the season. 

8th grade B team defeated Bay City by a score of 48-0. Offensive standouts were Brock Blevins and Jonathan Price. Defensive players of the game were Trent Thourot and Andres Murillo. 

8th grade A team defeated  Bay City by  a score of 46-12. Offensive standouts were Thomas Clark and Peyton Walne. Connor Krenek had a 95-yard kick return for a touchdown and Oswaldo Rodriguez made five extra points to help contribute to the Tigers scoring attack. Defensive standouts and leading tacklers were Callen Rabius and Ethan Hart.  

The freshman team lost to Stafford 14-6. Quarterback Matthew Tippie had one touchdown pass to receiver Draper Parker while Nick Martinez made the best defensive play of the game with his interception. Other standouts on offense were Ricky Avila, Stevie Alvarez, Devin Marin and Jackson Osbourne. Defensive standouts were Clayton Prajak, Jakobee Davais, Dylan Thaxton and Colton Burch.

The JV team won against Stafford 41-0 with quarterback Carter Cryan passing foor four touchdowns and running for two more. Wide receiver J.J. McDaniel caught two of those touchdowns while Jo Jo Cevallos and Hunter Havel were the standouts on defense.

Bellville Brahmas football

With just three games remaining in their season, the Bellville Brahmas were looking to extend their win streak to three games against Tarkington. The Brahmas won the road match against the Longhorns in big fashion 63-0. Senior Marcus Ward was the star of the night for the Brahmas finishing the night with four total touchdowns. Freshman running back Trevon Green was the leading rusher for Bellville with 119 yards on 13 attempts and a touchdown. The Brahmas are tied with Madisonville at the top of the district with a district record of 2-0. The two will face each other on Friday at Bellville with kickoff scheduled for 7:30.

The Brahmas’ freshman team hosted the Tarkington Longhorns for their second district game of the year. The Brahma defense held strong for most of the night only giving up just six points. Great defensive plays were made by Dylan Tovar, Zachary Hood, Kyle Peschel, Lane Hayslip and a host of other Brahmas. The offense was productive moving the ball majority of the evening putting up 22 points to walk away and stay undefeated in district winning 22-6. The Brahmas will travel to Madisonville next Thursday night to take on the Mustangs.

Brazos Cougars football

The Cougars rollercoaster of a season continued as they played Tidehaven at home in their second-to-last game of the season. Unfortunately for Brazos, they lost to Tidehaven 46-13. It was their second straight loss. With a 2-3 district record, the team’s last game of the season against Schulenburg is a virtual must-win if the Cougars have any hope of making the playoffs this season. Schulenburg is currently fourth in the district with a 2-2 record so whoever wins this game will earn the final ticket to the playoffs. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 at Schulenburg.
