During February, in honor of CTE Month, the Sealy High School students are choosing one CTE teacher each week to spotlight the great things that they are doing in their classrooms and programs.
This week the SHS students chose Angela Snowden as the CTE Teacher of the Week.
With a degree from Texas A&M University, Angela has dedicated her career to Career and Technical Education, teaching a variety of Agriculture Science courses and serving as FFA adviser. She has spent the last four years, of her nine years in education, at Sealy High School.
"The choice to become a teacher was to inspire, motivate, and teach our future leaders by striving to give students the experience that I had been given by my teachers,” Snowden said.
When asked what she likes best about CTE she says “providing students the chance to discover. I think back to when I was a student in my agriculture classes and remember being so excited to go to class to learn something ew. CTE provided exposure to skill sets and careers in high school I didn't even know existed. I want to give students something new to discover and look forward to in their classes and FFA involvement.”
One student said Mrs. Snowden is “passionate about her students, giving them endless opportunities to be great. She is a great role model for everyone, not just her students.”
Another added that “Mrs. Snowden always puts a smile on everyone’s face. She is the absolute sweetest and cares about all of her students.”
Snowden is kind, positive and can always be counted on to make you smile. She is patient, willing to help others and has a heart filled with passion and joy. She is extremely deserving to be Sealy High School CTE Teacher of the Week.
