Following a third-place finish in TAPPS six-man District 4-D3, a group of Faith Academy athletes garnered all-district distinction for their efforts in guiding the Knights to a three-win season.
The TAPPS football all-district meeting was held in December at Baytown Christian Academy. Faith Academy head coach James Crawford and athletic director Chuck Tomlinson attended the meeting and came home with six representatives on lists.
Seniors Jacob Henderson and Roy Shepherd closed their high school careers out on a positive note. Henderson took home second-team honors from the center and defensive lineman positions and Shepherd was named as a second-team linebacker and earned honorable mentions at running back.
A trio of sophomores was honored and will return to bolster the Knights’ core moving forward. Kaleb Shepherd took home first-team distinction at wide receiver and linebacker, Nathan Figueroa was a first-team wide receiver and second-team kicker and Maury Cano cracked the second-team wide receiver and defensive back lists.
Not only that, but freshman Blaze Byler was also recognized on the second-team running back and linebacker groups and will factor into the mix in Bellville to continue the positive trend built up at Faith Academy over the last couple of years.
