Cat Spring volunteer firefighter Michael Jack, 36, was arrested Feb. 7 following a lengthy investigation for promotion of child pornography.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office issued five warrants for Jack’s arrest. Details have been sparse, but authorities say that Jack had been under surveillance and was arrested following a traffic stop.

Sealy Police Department assisted in the arrest.

Sealy Detective Sgt. James Long said Monday he could offer no additional information but confirmed that further charges are pending.

In addition to Sealy PD and Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, several other law enforcement agencies are involved in the investigation including Texas Department of Public Safety and Montgomery County Constable Precinct 1.

“Jack's residence was searched where more evidence was located,” states a press release issued by Sealy Police Department. “All evidence collected at the residence was processed and was then taken for further investigation. Sealy Police Department is continuing to work with these agencies as the investigation continues.”
