Sealy inducts 49 into National Honor Society


On Oct. 16, Sealy High School inducted 49 new members into the National Honor Society.

The ceremony was conducted by the 2019-2020 officers: President Jennifer Lozano, Vice President Matthew Lord, Secretary Khondker Salim, Treasurer Daniel Ortiz, Historian Meagan Blaschke, Reporter Brendon Bechendorff and Parliamentarian Hannah Gibson. Officers lit symbolic candles as they read about the pillars of the National Honor Society.

New members inducted were: Daisy Alvarez, Noelia Arriaga, Mark Anthony Arriaga Arriaga, Brayden Ashorn, Patricia Ashorn, Brylie Bond, Grayson Brandes, Ariel Burton, McKenna Case, Austin DeBerry, Cameron Eschenburg, Jacob Gajewski, Heaven Hernandez, Vladimir Hernandez, Itzel Herrera, Chase Janicek, Justice Jett, Rebecca Kins, Brooke Kram, Kelsie Krenek, Emilie Lippencott, Jose Loredo, Janette Lozano, Madison Manak, Lane Miller, Maximilian Mock, Noe Navarro, Sarah Neal, Brylie Nedd, Avery Oliver, Carissa Olvera, Jackson Osborne, Diego Peralta Lopez, Alex Pinales, Eric Pinteralli, Cody Prause, Rhys Reichardt, Sydney Rose, Darby Sanders, Christian Sarmiento, Christian Saucedo, Lacey Sims, Morgan Smith, James Statham, Dylan Thaxton, Taylor Treybig, RJ Wigfall, and Blake Woods.

Kristen Novicke attended as the guest speaker. She inspired the inductees and the audience with a speech about curiosity, learning, community, and service. Sealy High School Principal Megan Oliver introduced the current members and spoke about her pride in being a Sealy Tiger.

Second-year members include: Mario Arriaga, Pamela Cerda, Hunter Clark, Carter Cryan, Jonah DeLozier, Lizbeth Dominquez, Jacob Evanicky, Kendall Faichtinger, Macey Feland, James Gassiott, Maddie Goad, Drake Grigar, Melissa Guerrero, Trinity Hall, Alexia Henley, Ximena Herrera, Reagan Hoffpauir, Amanda Macias, Cody Manna, Ivan Melendez, Jessica Mendoza, David Molina, Hannah Moyle, Reece Novicke, Sofia Olvera, John Owen, AshLynn Smith, Sophia Villagomez, Berenice Villegas, and Erika Young.

The Sealy Chapter of the National Honor Society will participate in community service such as Wreaths Across America, Read Across America, and work with the elementary schools in Sealy. Each member will also complete individual service hours.

Top ranking sophomores serving as ushers include: Daniel Eschenburg, Logan Eschenburg, Alexis Huddleston, Maraya Martinez, and Reghan Novicke.
