Sealy FFA attends 2018 state convention


Sealy FFA Members traveled to Fort Worth on July 9-13 to participate in the State FFA Convention.

Jaxon Zeller, Kendall Young and Meghan Hein received their Texas FFA Lone Star Degree the highest degree any member can receive in the State of Texas. Kendall Young also participated as a Texas FFA Foundation Ambassador where she helped serve the Texas FFA Sponsors and Special Guest throughout the week. Paige Schultz competed in the State FFA Senior Prepared Public Speaking Contest in the Natural Resources category placing seventh in the State of Texas.

Paige Schultz also received a $20,000 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship. Danielle Thaxton received a $4,000 Fort Worth Stock Show Scholarship. Meghan Hein was recognized as Texas FFA Ford Leadership Scholar. Alejandro Pinales competed in the State Spanish Creed speaking contest. Throughout the week members that attended participated in community service, listened to motivational speakers, took part in leadership activates, and returned with a weeks’ worth of ideas to bring back to Sealy FFA.
