Sealy Assembly to serve as grand marshal for Austin County Fair

Being the Patriotic Order of the Knights of Columbus, the Sealy Assembly upon formation in 1987, and getting organized with public service programs they could participate in, recognized a challenge to offer their Color Guard to lead the annual Austin County Parade held in October. Their request to the 1988 Austin County Fair Committee was accepted and the rest is history.

For 30 years the Color Guard has led the parade with the exception of one year they participated as a marching unit. The Assembly Color Guard has also participated in various community and civic events, parades, the Sealy-Bellville High School football game, banquets, dedications and more.

The Honor Guard has turned out for many church events including Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, Bishop of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, his Auxiliary Bishops and our parish Priests and local parish events. The Assembly also provides Honor Guard to families at funeral wakes and services of departed Sir Knights.

The Sealy Assembly is honored to be selected by the Austin County Fair Association to be the Grand Marshal of the 2017 Fair Parade, set for Thursday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. in downtown Bellville.
