Ronnie (Ron) Clifton Alspaugh, 56, passed away in Sealy on Sept. 15, 2017. He was born in Richmond, Mo., to Paul and Lois Alspaugh on Sept. 10, 1961.
He was raised in Polo, Mo., and graduated from Wentworth Military Academy in 1979. He moved to Texas soon thereafter. He was an auto mechanic for many years and even had his own shop for a number of years. He then became a service manager in the RV and garbage collection industry.
Ron was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frydek, and a member of the Frydek Knights of Columbus. He earned the nickname Race Car Ron due to his love of drag racing. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, participating in barbecue cook-offs, riding his Harley and making moonshine. Family members affectionately called him Captain Ron from the many vacations spent at the lake.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Dean and Elizabeth Alspaugh and Ray and Daisy Davis.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Denise Alspaugh; parents Paul and Lois Alspaugh of Polo, Mo.; son Phillip Alspaugh of Hockley, daughter Erica Sanabria and Gary of Sealy; grandchildren Gage and Tyler Alspaugh of Hockley; father-in-law and mother-in-law Bobby and Jean Koym of Sealy; brother-in-law Dean Koym and Denise Casala of Galveston; sister-in-law Debra Koym of Katy; brother-in-law Don Koym of Sealy; brother-in-law Darrin Koym and Donna of Sealy; niece Keri Barnes and Jay of Kearney, Mo.; nephew Cody Henrichsen and fiancée Courtney Hale of Katy; and Bobby Henrichsen of Katy.
Funeral services were held Sept. 18 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis with Rev. Thuy Quang Nguyen celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment was in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in Homan.
