Del Valle High School was the sight of the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association Region Two Championship and although it signaled the end of the road for Sabrina Terrill’s season, that finale came around the best in the area.
Through each of the three meets leading up to regional competition, Terrill bettered her marks across all lifts; squat, bench press and deadlift.
She maintained that streak in the squat rack and on the bench to keep pace with the best in region two, setting season records of 300 and 165 in each respective lift.
On top of that, the junior added a 230-pound deadlift, a 15-pound increase from the opening meet, for a total of 695 pounds which was also a 15-pound jump from her previous heaviest total.
From a baseline of 205-150-215 from that initial meet in Brazos, she closed out her penultimate campaign with increases across the board and walked off with an eighth-place finish in her weight class.
Out of the 139 total lifters that moved weight, she came in 56th place and the top female lifter from Sealy.
Stephenville took home the team title with a pair of Honeybees taking the top spot in their weight class. The Lorena Leopards and Waco La Vega Pirates were the only other teams with two first-place finishers with the top Pirate lifters finishing atop the overall standings as the only two lifting over 1,000 total pounds.
