The Sealy News regrets to inform the public that we will no longer provide free paper and cardboard recycling at our office location on Schmidt Road.
Houston-based Tascon Industries has decided to cancel the agreement that it has had for the last several years with The Sealy News citing low profits with recycling.
Tascon Industries has paid the profits from the recycling bin to The Sealy News. The Sealy News would turn around 100 percent of those profits and allocate them to Helping One Another-Meals on Wheels., which provides meals to senior citizens in the local community.
After weeks of trying to provide adequate alternative, with the help of other caring individuals, I have decided that we have been defeated in our purpose.
I regret any inconvenience that this will most certainly have on our community.
