Sealy Pregnancy Resource Center Fundraiser
The Sealy Pregnancy Resource Center is hosting a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 9 at the drive-through behind the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1390 Highway 90 West, Sealy. The menu includes a chicken fried chicken breast, cream gravy, German style potatoes, green beans and bread. Tickets are available at 2155 F.M. 1094 Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or at the Sealy Walmart on Aug. 25 and Sept. 1 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Bike Ride Benefit
Ready2Roll Cycling is hosting the Pedal Away Alzheimer's Ride on Sept. 15 starting at 8 a.m. from the Austin County Fair and Convention Grounds in Bellville. The route options are open to riders of all levels and will include various ride distances from 22, 39, 48 or 65 miles of cycling. The routes will include law enforcement at key intersections, SAG and ride marshal support, porta-lets at the start, finish and rest stops, fully-stocked rest stops and a lively post-ride party. Packet pickup will be hosted at Sun & Ski Sports, 6100 Westheimer, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 and at Bike Barn, 5339 Weslayan, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept 13. Packets can also be picked up from 6:30-7:30 a.m. on the day of the ride.
Volunteer opportunities are available both before the event as well as the day of the ride.

Sealy High School Class Reunion
The SHS 50-year class reunion for the Class of 1968 will be at noon Sept. 29 at Ermis Encore Double E Grocery, 10108 F.M. 1458, Frydek. No deposit needed. Arts and Crafts Show
The Wallis American Legion Post 200, 300 Legion Road, Wallis, is hosting an arts and crafts show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 27 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 28. Chopped barbecue on buns and hamburgers will be served along with desserts and drinks. For more information, call 281-743-3678.

Sealy History
Two books on Sealy's history have recently been published and are available for purchase at the Gordon Memorial Library. "A Late Walk through Sealy" has been reprinted and a new book about the history of the Liedertafel by Bill Ripple has been published. Proceeds from the sales of the two books benefit the Sealy Area Historical Society and the Gordon Memorial Library.

Texas German Society

Americans of German descent constitute the largest ethnic group in the United States with more than 58 million Americans proudly proclaiming their German heritage. Austin County and the surrounding areas contain a large number of inhabitants with German backgrounds. The Bluebonnet Chapter of Texas German Society strives to preserve and promote the German language, culture and traditions. This group meets bi-monthly at the Hill Center in Sealy. Anyone, including non-German speaking individuals, is encouraged to join. They may contact chapter president Herbert Schumann at 979-865-3804.

Volunteer with RSVP
Feed the hungry; reach out to the community with fundraisers, nursing homes, food pantries, volunteer fire departments, schools, holidays and community events.
