HOA-Meals on Wheels is having a Come and Go Appreciation for Executive Director Buddy Chance who is retiring after almost 30 years of service. The gathering is open to the public and will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. July 6 at the main office, 915 Frydek Road in Sealy. Breakfast snacks will be served.
Lions Club Dance
The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, July 7, at the Sealy American Legion Hall with Charles & The Fabulous Four providing the music from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Guests are always welcome.
Preserving Family Heritage
An Estate and Legal Planning Seminar will be hosted by Washington, Austin, and Fayette County Extension. The program topics will include: Overview of Estate and Transition Planning; Business Entities and Trusts; Understanding Probate and Alternatives. The program will be held at the Cat Spring Ag Hall, 13035 Hall Road, Cat Spring, on July 16. Austin County Sports Banquet
The second annual Austin County Sports Night Banquet will feature Sealy, Bellville and Brazos coaches giving the inside scoop for the upcoming fall seasons of football, volleyball and cross country. Tickets include a chicken fried chicken meal and a night of fun. The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. July 28 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Sealy.

Texas German Society
Americans of German descent constitute the largest ethnic group in the United States with more than 58 million Americans proudly proclaiming their German heritage. Austin County and the surrounding areas contain a large number of inhabitants with German backgrounds. The Bluebonnet Chapter of Texas German Society strives to preserve and promote the German language, culture and traditions. This group meets bi-monthly at the Hill Center in Sealy.
