Residents of Colonial Belle Nursing Home in Sealy enjoyed their fifth annual Mardi Gras party Feb. 22 hosted by Sealy High School Interact club. Residents enjoyed festive decorations, a photo booth, slot machines and more. Rotarian Paul Dronka and Burk Ehret brought casino tables and dealt blackjack and poker. Former Sealy High School band director Don Allphin performed jazz and other favorite songs. Activities director Mary Logan provided refreshments and led residents in a kazoo contest. Sealy High School members of FCCLA and Advanced Culinary Arts students prepared gumbo for the residents. So many residents commented on ‘what a good group of kids’ the Interactors are. They truly have the heart of Rotary’s motto of ‘service above self’ and are blessed by being able to bless others.
