Local resident graduates from Virginia Military Institute

LEXINGTON, Va. – More than 370 cadets received bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees from Virginia Military Institute during the commencement ceremony May 16. Former U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson addressed the Class of 2018 in VMI's Cameron Hall. Graduating cadets included the following:

Pierson B. Fowler of Fulshear received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering.

Cadet Fowler's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Michael R Fowler.

Founded in 1839, Virginia Military Institute is the nation's oldest state-supported military college. Consistently ranked among the top public liberal arts colleges in the nation by both U.S. News and World Report and Money magazine, VMI offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in 14 majors.
