Lady Knights win two straight

The Faith Academy Lady Knights’ softball team collected 17 hits and Beaumont Legacy tallied five in the high-scoring game on March 20.

Faith’s offense came alive when they put up five runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a single by Jasmyn Trejo and Reagan Majewski, a groundout by Regan Woodley and a double by Katelynn Burasco.

Destiny Interiano earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for the Faith Academy Lady Knights. She allowed five hits and six runs over six innings, striking out 16 and walking one.

Faith totaled 17 hits in the game. Interiano, Lacy Phillips, Marissa Przyborski, Burasco, Woodley and Trejo each collected multiple hits in the game. Przyborski, Phillips and Interiano each collected three hits to lead the team.

They also tore up the base paths as three players stole at least two bases. Kylea Bain led the way with two.

Beaumont Legacy made a late push in the fifth inning but the Lady Knights held them off for the 17-6 win.

Faith Academy hit the road two days later to take on Woodlands Legacy. Two pitchers, Maddy Gonzales and Jasmyn Trejo teamed up to a throw a no-hitter as the Lady Knights beat Woodlands 19-0.

The team was boosted by Maddy Gonzales who went 4-for-4 at the plate. Gonzales singled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the third, and homered in the fifth.

The Lady Knights got things started immediately in the first inning when Gonzales drove in one run off a single. They followed their hot start up putting up 12 runs in the second inning. The offense was fuled singles from Kylea Bain, Gonzales and Marissa Przyborski, doubles from Przyborski, Regan Woodley and Reagan Majewski, a triple from Majewski, a sacrifice fly by Gonzales and a fielder's choice by Lacy Phillips.

Gonzales was the winning pitcher for Faith Academy allowing zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking zero. Trejo threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. In total, the Lady Knights tallied 24 hits. Trejo, Majewski , Gonzales, Woodley, Bain, Destiny Interiano and Przyborski all collected multiple hits for Faith Academy. Trejo went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
