The Faith Academy Knights hosted the Covenant Academy Patriots from Cypress on Feb. 6 for their last district game. From the opening tip, the Knights controlled the game. They scored first and then they applied a full-court press which led to six quick points and an 8-0 lead. The Knights continued the pressure and played good defense all night. The offense was firing on all cylinders, building a 20 point lead by halftime. In the second half, the Knights played just a well. At the buzzer, the Knights defeated the Patriots 70-40.
Leading the Knights in scoring was Pierce Newcomb with 33 points, Miguel Guerrero with eight, Nathan Taake and Brody Schiller each with six and Cameron Crawford with one. The Knights leading rebounders were Crawford with 10, Newcomb with eight and Taake with seven.
The Knights ended the season with a great team performance. Their overall record was 5-16 with a district record of 2-10. With no seniors on the team, they have already started preparing for next season.
