Knight runners return to track

The Faith Academy track and field team went to the Bryan High School Meet on Friday, Feb. 27 at Merrill Green Stadium.

The Knights competed in the junior varsity division but despite the lower level, there was still stiff competition around them from 16 other schools, many of which were much larger than Faith Academy.

Many of the Knights’ performances put them into the top-10 of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools’ (TAPPS) 1A state rankings this week.

Sophomore Haley Guzman placed first in the long jump and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. Kaleb Shepherd, also a sophomore, placed third in the shot put. Senior Roy Shepherd won his heat of the 100-meter dash and freshman Beck Briggs did the same in the 400-meter dash.
