Seventh and eighth graders all beat the visiting Freeport teams that came to Sealy yesterday, and the eighth A team and seventh B team both moved to 4-0 on the season.

The A team from eighth grade won by a 38-0 margin with a touchdown on the ground and through the air for Mason Klotz. A’vonte Nunn, Blake Svoboda and Hayden Wernecke also crossed the goal line with D’vonne Hmielewski hurling a pair of scores and rushing for another.

Richard Hahn, William Forrester, Nathan Dreese and Lucas Zapalac (two fumble recoveries) helped solidify the defense and earn a shutout on their home field.

Eighth graders on the B team also achieved a shutout, this one by a score of 26-0.

Juan Perez, Cambrien Lang and Colby Eschenburg served as some of the scorers while Andres Flores and Braden Tyler also helped move the ball down the field.

On the other side of the ball, Nazareth Rodriguez, Nicky Gaitley, Matthew Reyes and Angel Arriaga all stymied any attempt to get into their end zone to move the Tigers’ overall record to 3-1.

A-teamers from the seventh grade were the only ones to allow points on the night but still came away with a 26-12 victory.

Jackson Burttschell led the way with a pair of touchdown passes to Reid Miller and Byrson Johnson. Jeffery Neu also rotated in at quarterback but eventually found the end zone from his running-back position. Johnson also utilized his big men up front and crossed the goal line with a rushing touchdown himself.

Maurice Wigfall, Chris Macool, Drayton Mazac and Zack Garcia all anchored the defense to grab another win for Sealy to move its record to 3-1 so far in the seventh-grade A season.

The final matchup of the series ended in a 35-0 win for the B team from seventh grade.

Landon Walne, David Kainer and Zachar Barrientos broke open the game with several big plays while Gage Bowen, Michael Bartlett, Connor Smith and Michel Castillo solidified another Tiger defense that surrendered no points and to keep intact a 4-0 record so far.
