Jerry W. Emshoff Sr.

Jerry W. Emshoff Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 18, 2017, at the age of 68 in Katy, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born to parents Elton and Ruby Emshoff on Jan. 3, 1949. He was baptized on March 6, 1949 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville. Jerry was confirmed on June 2, 1963 also at St. John Lutheran Church. He attended Bellville school through the sixth grade then moved to Sealy with his family and graduated from Sealy High School in 1967. He then attended Blinn Junior College for one year until being drafted into the US Army on April 3, 1968. After serving two years in the Vietnam War he returned home on November 2, 1970. On May 9, 1971, Jerry married the love of his life, Majorie Mae Marek at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sealy. Jerry and Mae were blessed with three children, Jerry Jr., Tammy, and Mark.

After working 42 years in the feed and fertilizer business at Schier Feed and Sealy Oil Mill, Jerry retired at the age of 62. Jerry's devotion to the family ranch in Kenney, Texas, was his passion and it showed through the late nights, long weekends, and many hours spent teaching his children and grandchildren the value of hard work. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing and tending to his cattle. Mae was his right-hand woman, there wasn't a day spent that she wasn't right by his side.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Mae of 46 years, son, Jerry Emshoff, Jr. and wife Angie, daughter, Tammy Luera and husband Ernie, son, Mark Emshoff and wife Tiffany, grandchildren, McKenna and Sierra Schulz, Hannah Emshoff, Stockton Emshoff, Aaron Luera, Dylan Luera, Draven Ashorn-Hejl, and Lane Emshoff, mother, Ruby Emshoff, brother, Robert Emshoff and wife Donna, sister, Cindy Sodolak, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Elton Emshoff, father and mother-in-law, Otto and Nervie Marek, grandparents, Emil and Erma Emshoff, grandparents, Edward and Melinda Winklemann, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Perry and Georgia Marek, brother-in-law, CJ Marek, and nephew, Chad Marek.
