Jean Annette Peters

Jean Annette Peters

Jean Annette Peters was born on Feb. 4, 1938, to Julia and Valentine Hintz. She graduated from Sealy High School. On Feb. 28, 1960, she married Frankie Peters at the First United Methodist Church in Sealy. They lived in the Sealy and Burleigh area, working and raising cattle.

Jean was an authentic Texas cowgirl. She was right there holding the flashlight in the 30-degree weather while Frankie was helping a calf be born or giving medicine to a sick animal. Also, she knew how to throw those hay bales off the trailer.

Jean worked for Port City Stockyards for many years. The ranchers were always happy to see her smiling face at the front counter and the check she had for them. She was a very active member of the Woodmen of World and enjoyed all the social gatherings and conferences they had.

Jean is survived by her sister, Alicia Vykoukal and husband David of Cypress, nephew Jody Vykoukal and wife Daynene and daughters Julia and Lilian of Houston, and niece Nicole Vykoukal of Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frankie Peters.
