It’s an event that marks a homecoming or high school reunion for many who grew up in Sealy. It’s a chance for people who have no rhythm to shake it on the dance floor. It’s a chance for athletes on summer break to hit the softball diamond.
It is Sealybration.
Festivities kick off Friday, July 13, at 5 p.m. at B&PW Park. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event and will feature live music, vendors, a carnival, 5k run and the Stars & Strikes softball tournament.
Proceeds from the event as well as Sealy Community Foundation’s other signature event, Fantasy of Lights, go toward scholarships and donations to charitable organizations.
“I love to see the community and the organizations come together to showcase our town,” said SCF president Melanie Willingham.
Board members work almost year-round to plan the community gathering, which offers something for the whole family.
“We all work together to create change, show the unity of our town and help others spread positivity and awareness,” Schmidt said. “It takes a village, and that’s something Sealy stands for – pride in our town.”
