The 92nd annual Austin County Fair is in the books, and what a year it was.
Running Oct. 4-13, the fair had much to offer guests and participants. Headlining the concerts were John Michael Montgomery and the Urban Cowboy Reunion Tour featuring Mickey Gilley and Johnny Lee. A concert by Koe Wetzel attracted a huge crowd on Oct. 5. The PRCA rodeo action on Friday and Saturday nights, Oct. 11-12, drew standing room only crowds and featured many current and former world champions.
Although there were several judging events and other contests throughout the week, the heart of the fair started pumping Oct. 10 with the fair parade, featuring Grand Marshal Mary Ann Inglish. Emma Lischka was crowned the 2019 Austin County Fair Queen.
At the Austin County Fair Youth Auction Sale, seven records were broken to bring the unofficial total to $1,349,638.75. That total includes add-on’s made the day of the sale. Add-on’s, however, continue to be accepted through Oct. 31.
