After dropping their final district contest at home, the Faith Academy Knights will close their regular season with a journey to Baytown Christian for a matchup with the undefeated Bulldogs.
Faith will take its 1-2 district record on the road where an upset of the defending state champions could catapult the Knights to a playoff spot if the Community Christian Lions (3-4-1 overall, 1-1 in District 4) fall to the winless Alvin Living Stones Lions.
Community Christian just picked up its first win of district play last week over Faith Academy, 51-6, after three quarters of play.
The visiting Lions led 37-0 at halftime but Nathan Figueroa got the Knights on the board with a 28-yard pass to Kaleb Shepherd to open the second-half scoring although that was the only time Faith Academy crossed the goal line.
Two more Community Christian scores pushed the game to the mercy rule territory and dropped the Knights to 3-5 on the season with one game remaining at 8-0 Baytown Christian.
The Bulldogs were off last week but took down the Community Christian Lions, 45-0, the week prior to pick up their first district win of the year.
Faith Academy last made the postseason in 2016 and ultimately fell to Community Christian, 45-0.
