Faith Academy ended its school year with their annual Blue Bowl competitions. Blue Bowl started in 2007 with the high school classes dividing into two teams for an annual flag football game. It was established so the student body could enjoy one last evening with their classmates before the summer. In 2016, volleyball was added and in 2018 softball was added to the evening festivities.
The evening started off with an hour of volleyball. Each class competed against each other in a round-robin format. There was a three-way tie of 2-1 with the seniors winning on point differential.
After volleyball, we ventured to the softball field where the senior/sophomores team named Schrute Family Reunion played the juniors/freshman team named Dunder Miffliknights. The game had to go into an extra inning with Dunder Miffliknights winning 10-8.
Next came the flag football game. It was a very exciting game. The Schrute Family Reunion got the ball back with under 3:00 and a 24-19 lead. Then the inevitable happened, a team’s worst nightmare, a pick-six. Dunder Miffliknights, with a 25-24 lead, defense spoiled Schrute Family Reunion with a Hail Mary.
