Four musical acts performed Jan. 30 at the second Soundoff to Sealybration competition, facing off for a $1,000 cash prize and a chance to perform at Sealybration this summer.
Of the four performers, those going forward include Ryan Brown and Daniel DeWeese. Also forging ahead to the finals are those who got the most votes at the first and second Soundoff event – duos Annabelle Lerma and Blane Fisher and Laz and Katie, along with solo artists Bubba Westly and Chris Ryan.
Along with Brown and DeWeese, local favorites Mason Marek and Chris Wallace hit the stage last week.
More performers were scheduled to play Wednesday, Feb. 6, including Collin Dwigans, Carson Jeffery and Gary Elliot.
The competition, sponsored by The Sealy News, Sealy Community Foundation and Saddleback Saloon, kicked off Jan. 16 at Saddleback Saloon and continues each Wednesday through March 6, with the finale scheduled for Saturday, March 9.
Competitors are allowed to perform up to five songs, as members of the audience cast votes for their favorites. Additionally, judges representing Saddleback Saloon, The Sealy News and Sealy Community Foundation score the musicians based on song choice, appearance and audience response.

The following future events are scheduled, leading up to the announcement of the winner on Saturday, March 9.
Second Rounds – Feb. 20 and Feb. 27
