Elizabeth Schwake Brinkmeyer was born on Oct. 25, 1946, in Brenham, Texas, to Johnnie Schwake and Laura Wehring Schwake. She grew up in Gayhill, Texas, and graduated from Brenham High School in 1964.
Elizabeth went to work at Brenham State Bank, where she met Arthur Miller of Miller Motor Company, in Katy. Mr. Miller hired Elizabeth as the comptroller of Miller Motor Company at the age of 17 years old. She was passionate about her work and loved working with numbers. Through this passion and her dedication, Elizabeth worked for Miller Motor Company for many years and spent her entire career as a comptroller for numerous automotive dealerships throughout Southeast Texas. She found her final home with Mr. Frank Meszaros at West Houston VW and Subaru and Meszaros Motorsports. They were friends and she loved working for him.
She had a heavenly voice for singing and directed many choirs over the years. She was also gifted in playing both the organ and piano. Elizabeth sang and played for many church services, weddings and funerals.
Elizabeth had a natural talent for home designs and decorating. She skillfully crafted each of her homes in her own style, often changing the design and adding on to the structure. She also loved to sew. Elizabeth loved animals – all animals. She enjoyed dancing, especially to her favorites, a good waltz or a polka.
She was at her happiest working in her yard and gardening. She could grow anything and had quite the green thumb. She loved her lawnmower and would not let anyone mow her yard, as she took tremendous pride in the way her yard and garden looked and prospered.
Elizabeth passed peacefully away on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, in Cypress, Texas, at the age of 73 years with loving family around.
