Dottie Nell Finch was born in Sealy, Texas on Aug. 17, 1931. She attended Peters Hacienda and Sealy High Schools. Dottie married Buel Finch on March 24, 1948 and together they had three children. Dottie enjoyed working as a waitress at various local restaurants over the years. Dottie and Buel were also founding members of, “Papa Buel’s Roughriders, INC” a local trail rider group. Dottie enjoyed doing the cooking and bookkeeping for the Roughriders. She was also a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Sealy, Texas. Surrounded by her family, Dottie went to be with the Lord Aug. 13, 2018 at the age of 86 and just four days shy of her 87th birthday.
Dottie is preceded in death by her husband, Buel T. Finch, her son, Rodney T. Finch, parents, Erwin and Lenora Brast, and brother, William Brast. Dottie is survived by her daughters and their husbands: Carolyn and Henry Davis and Wanda and Joe Kovar, grandchildren: Angelia Lofthouse, John Stanford, Jr., Matthew Kovar, Michelle Rapsilver, Amber Brackett, and numerous great-grandchildren (16) and one great-great grandchild.
A visitation with the family was held on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018 from 9 to 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Sealy followed by a Funeral Service at 10am, interment was held at Sealy Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were: John Stanford, Jonathan Lofthouse, Brandon Lofthouse, Matthew Kovar, Garrett Baker, and Nick Rapsilver. Honorary pallbearers were: David Lofthouse, Austin Lofthouse, Evan Lofthouse, Thomas Kovar, Chuck Rapsilver, Andrew Rapsilver, Chris Rapsilver, Cameron Stanford, and Blake Barron.
