Danny Peter Collins, 57, of San Felipe, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Oct. 13, 2019, surrounded by his family.

He was born on the army base of Bad Cannstatt to Helga and Bob Collins on April 5, 1962. He was raised in Houston and graduated from James Madison High School where he was a four-year letterman and captain of the football team. Danny attended Texas Lutheran College on a football scholarship and earned a Bachelor of Arts in teaching and coaching while he was the president of his fraternity KAPPA PHI ALPHA.

He met the love of his life, Tiffany DeLozier, at the Sealy pool while coaching in Sealy. The two were married on July 18, 1992, in Bellville, Texas. They lived in Katy for eight years with their children Taylor and Madelyn. They moved to San Felipe in 2001 where they built their dream home. Danny worked as a teacher, coach and campus athlete coordinator for Spring Oaks Middle School in Spring Branch for 28 years.

Danny enjoyed working in his beautiful yard and maintaining his property. He loved watching his son Taylor play Sealy Tiger football and his daughter Madelyn was truly daddy’s little girl. He loved spending time with his brothers Darren and Dean and their families, going to eat Mexican food and enjoying a margarita, watching the Texan games or sitting outside by the fire pit appreciating every moment. He also liked to play golf and truly enjoyed sitting on his front porch drinking coffee and visiting with his wife while watching the deer crossing their property. Danny accepted Jesus as his savior and had a true deep faith that sustained him through his illness.

He has survived by his wife of 27 years, Tiffany, his son Taylor and daughter Madelyn, his mother Helga Collins of Sugar Land, brother Dean Collins and wife Lisa, brother Darren and wife Betty, in-laws Curtis and Donna Brenner, Mike and Sharon DeLozier, brother-in-law Chris DeLozier and wife Bonnie, brother- in-law Damien DeLozier, sister-in-law Jennifer Venghaus and husband Nick, along with nieces Crystal, Ashley, Lauren, and Brook Collins and great-niece Emma, nephews Jonah, Jake, Brennan, and Cody DeLozier, Pierce and Bryson Venghaus, his aunt Heidi Wachter and cousin Stephen. He is proceeded in death by his father Bob Collins, uncle Peter Wachter and grandparents Emma and Erwin Wachter.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Life Bridge Community Church. The church is located at 2162 FM 2187 Road in Sealy. We would like to thank the many family, friends, and neighbors for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time, as well as Vantage Hospice in Katy.
