Head Coach Anthony Branch had three of his teams come away victorious over the weekend at Bellville’s Booster Club Invitational in their third meet of the year.
The varsity boys’ team finished fourth through seventh consecutively with James Gassoit, Vladimir Hernandez, Xavier Olivera and Nahol Ahmed all running sub-19:00. Daniel Medrana also registered a 14th-place finish to rack up 30 points to beat the host Brahmas.
The junior varsity girls not only had the top four finishers in their race but also had two more to round out the top-eight to score a 17 and win the meet.
Priscilla Almeida, Madison Manak, Coral Becerra and Trinity Hall were the first to cross the finish line and Hailey Arteaga and Hattie Schalla earned 7th and 8th respectively.
The JV boys also registered six top-ten finishers and added a 12th-place finish to grab another win for Sealy.
A trio of Eschenburg's finished 3rd, 6th and 8th respectively in Logan, Cameron and Daniel with Julius Aguilar coming in 2nd and Ike Kovicka finishing 9th. Cody Prause and Dakota jones finished 10th and 12th to round out the victory over five other teams.
The only Sealy team not to earn a victory was the varsity girls’ squad and that win went to Coach Eric Stuessel of Brazos.
He had a pair of siblings near the top of the race-results in the Kneip sisters with 1st and 3rd places on lockdown between Maddie and Makinzy. Katherine Ressler finished in between them in 2nd and Allie Gonzales also finished 6th to round out their top-ten finishers.
Four more Cougarettes in the top-35 earned a final score of 26 which was more than enough to hold of Caldwell which finished second with 67.
The cross-country season rolls on with the next meet being hosted in Brazos with an 8:30 a.m. start time this Saturday morning.
