Clyde Moore Stone Jr.

With great sadness, the family of Clyde Moore Stone Jr., 88, announces that he went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Oct. 18, 2017 at Memorial Hermann Hospital. He was born Oct. 1, 1929 in Sayre, Okla., to beloved parents, Clyde M. Stone Sr. and Lou Rettie Farrel Stone. Clyde, also known as C.M., will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him, as a wonderful man of God; generous, and a heart bigger than Texas. He was a 40-plus-year member of the First Baptist Church of Sealy. 

He is survived by his only living brother: Keith Stone and wife Thurma Jean; 

His children and their spouses: Son, Ronald J. Stone and wife Vivian of Edmond, Oklahoma; Daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Stone Hintz and husband Lewis of Sealy; Daughter, Melinda Stone Ivey and husband Edward of Sealy; Son, Samuel Stone and wife Melody of Indian Trail, North Carolina; 12 Grandchildren: Adam Stone, Jennifer Stone, David Stone, Donna Stone Shaw, Carolyn Stone Wachsmann, Brenda Stone Skeen, Megan Hintz Tegenkamp, Amber Hintz Walpole, Cody Ivey, Heath Ivey, Christopher Ivey and Isaiah Stone; 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He loved and cherished each and every one of his family members.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, his brother Jerry Stone, his wife of 66 years Betty Jo Lewis Stone, his firstborn son Richard Lynn Stone, and his grandson J. R. Ivey.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 at 4 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Sealy 707 8th St., Sealy, Texas 77474 with Rev. Robby Magee and Rev. Merle Blado officiating. Visitation was held at First Baptist Church of Sealy, Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. Interment in the Sealy Cemetery. Knesek funeral Home in Sealy is in charge of arrangements.
