Clara Bilski Michalke Lindemann, 79, of Sealy went peacefully to be with the Lord on Oct. 10, 2017, in Houston. She was born on Oct. 26, 1937, in Brenham, to Stanley and Pelagia Bilski. She attended her early school years at St. Mary’s in Brenham and went on attend high school and college at Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio.
During her life, Clara was a devoted wife and mother to her three sons Mark, Mike and Marlen. She was also a member of Immaculate Conception Church, 4H adult leader, and bookkeeper. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to club dances with her friends. It was there that she met her husband, Marvin Lindemann. They were united in marriage on Aug. 9, 1986. They most enjoyed spending time together with friends camping and hunting. Clara had a passion for reading the newspaper, watching the news, and doing crossword puzzles. She also loved to watch and feed all the various wildlife around her house. Clara, also known as Memaw or MiMi, treasured the time she got to spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a sweet tooth and always had some type of sweet treat ready for the kids.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Pawlak and husband Harry; sons, Dr. Mark Michalke; Marlen Michalke and wife Gretchen; daughter-in-laws Laurie Michalke and Kathy Michalke; grandchildren, Brandon Michalke; Meagan Volking and husband Josh; Nathan Michalke and wife Lauren; Melissa Nelson and husband Dusty; Reagan Michalke, Carson Michalke, and Holden Michalke; great-grandchildren, Sterling and Sutton Michalke; Jackson and Jameson Volking; and Hailey Nelson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by son, Mike Michalke; husband, Marvin Lindeman; father of her sons, Ed Michalke; and siblings, Herman Bilksi Sr. and Theresa Carter.
Pall bearers are Brandon Michalke, Nathan Michalke, Holden Michalke, Josh Volking, Dusty Nelson, James Michalke, Wayne Michalke, Jason Carter, and Doug Bilski. Honorary pall bearers are Sterling and Sutton Michalke, Jackson and Jameson Volking and Hailey Nelson.
Visitation is Sunday, Oct. 15, at Knesek Brothers Highway 36 Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. with rosary following. The funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church Sealy on Monday, Oct. 16, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Catholic cemetery.
