Bras for a Cause raises record-breaking funds

For the fourth consecutive year, The Sealy News has hosted Bras for a Cause, and each year the event has raised more money for MD Anderson Memorial Herrmann Breast Care Center Katy.

At Saturday’s event, more than $5,500 came in for bras that were modeled by local celebrities and auctioned off to the public.

Sealy News publisher Karen Lopez will present a check to the hospital next week.

Auctioneer Allen Kaminski accepted bids as Sealy City Manager Lloyd Merrell, Tiger Band Director Rolando Cantu, Assistant City Manager Warren Escovy, “Big T,” Public Works Director Mark Pulous and more modeled bras that were decorated by the community.

The event is held each year at Saddleback Saloon in downtown Sealy. Last year it brought in about $2,600.
