Bluebonnet Master Gardeners plans fall events

The Bluebonnet Master Gardener Association (BMGA) is grateful for the cool, wet fall. Members in all four counties - Austin, Colorado, Fayette and Washington - are very busy!

The Association took preorders for fruit trees to be delivered to the Horticulture Committee of Austin County’s Fall Fruit Tree Program, Oct. 29, 2018 at the Sens Center in Bellville.

Washington County members are hosting their last “Lunch and Learn” for the 2018 Fall season Nov. 6, at noon at the Washington County Fairgrounds Sales Facility, 1305 E. Blue Bell Road in Brenham. B. R. Koehler will be presenting a program on moles and gophers. BMGA Lunch and Learns are held on the first Tuesdays of the month. They are free and open to the public.

Fayette County members are hosting their last “Lunch and Learn” for the 2018 Fall season on Nov. 13, at noon at the Fayette County AgriLIFE Extension office, 255 Svoboda Lane in LaGrange. Nita Tiemann and Carol Daniels will be presenting a program on Hypertufa. BMGA Lunch and Learns in La Grange are held on the second Tuesdays of the month. They are free and open to the public. Bring your lunch and learn!

BMGA meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month with a general business meeting and an educational program. The October meeting featured “Plant Propagation” by BMGA member Mary Jane Moore. The November meeting will feature BMGA member Faye Beery who will educate the membership on citrus diseases.

On Dec. 10 BMGA members will gather to celebrate the end of a busy and productive year with dinner and door prizes at J. W.’s Steak House in Carmine.
