The board of directors of Austin County State Bank recently announced the election of Jeff Virnau to the board during its July meeting.
Virnau was born and raised in Sealy. His grandfather, father and uncle began W.A. Virnau & Sons in 1961. Virnau began working at an early age at the family tractor and implement business. He began to have a love and an appreciation for every aspect of the business.
After graduating from Southwest Texas in 1988 with a bachelor’s in business management, Virnau returned to Sealy to operate the family business. He and his wife Melissa bought the tractor business in 2016 and he has never looked back in his 42 years at Virnau Sealy Tractor.
Virnau is no stranger to Sealy and Austin County. He is well-connected in the Sealy community. Volunteering, supporting, giving – one will find Virnau not only in Sealy but throughout Austin County at fund-raising events, civic meetings or participating in various organizations – always supporting the community, church and kids of all ages.
Jeff met and married Melissa while attending college. They have raised four girls and now are enjoying five grandchildren. Virnau has a deep faith and he and Melissa attend and are active at Bellville First Baptist Church. Jeff believes his faith, his commitment to his business, his work family, and his support and service to local organizations and charities have made him who he is today. He loves life, giving back and what he can do for others.
Chairman and President James “Jim” P. O’Jibway said, “We believe Jeff has the qualities and the character our bank board represents. He is going to be an integral part of ACSB and its growth. We welcome Jeff and are looking forward to many years of working with him.”
