Three outstanding Austin County students each received $1,000 scholarships from the Austin County Livestock Association at the annual association meeting on June 7 at the Cat Spring Agricultural Society Hall.
Receiving the scholarships were Molly Dittert, Savanah Kovar and Conner Neumann.
A program was presented by Randy Stavinoha with the Department of Public Safety, who presented a program on state and federal regulations for farm trucks and trailers. Prior to the program, Megan Clayton of the Texas Agricultural Extension Service provided a presentation for two hours of continuing education credit.
Four directors who were re-elected were: Byron Balke, Louis Devin, Billy Jackson and Allen Schubert, A meal of barbecue beef and pork with all the trimmings was served prior to the meeting.
