Armed Forces Day at Austin County Fair

Thursday, Oct. 11, the 91st annual Austin County Fair will honor the military. Anyone in uniform or with a military ID will receive $5 off gate prices (this does not include season passes, child, senior citizen or online tickets). The Board of Directors recognizes the sacrifices of our men and women in the military and want to thank them for their service.

Austin County Fair Pet Show

We are looking for the most talented and best dressed pet in Austin County. Enter your beloved pet in the Pet Show on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018 beginning at 1 p.m.
The pet show will be held under the horse barn at the fairgrounds. Children 3-10 years old may enter and pets must be owned by exhibitor or immediate family. All animals must be restrained and under control. Reptiles must be caged.
Categories are: Best Dog/Puppy, Best Cat/Kitten, Miscellaneous and Talent & Costume.  The Talent Class will consist of Most Talented, Most Obedient and Funniest Pair. The Costume Class will be Best Costume, Best Matched Pair and Most Original Costume. Trophies will be awarded for first place in each category and ribbons for first, second and third place in each category.

School Pride & Seniors Day

Wednesday, Oct. 10, will be School Pride & Seniors Day at the Austin County Fair.
Attendees are invited to wear their school colors, whether they be high school or college, to the Fair on Wednesday.
The Fair also is hosting its inaugural Seniors Day with entertainment and a free lunch for senior citizens age 65 years and older. Entry into the fair will be $3 for seniors, but the lunch and the entertainment are free.

Shuttle bus schedule

The Austin County Fair will offer free shuttle buses to and from the Margaret Chesley Memorial Park off of the Square to the front gate of the Fairgrounds on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 4:15 p.m. to 1 a.m., Friday, Oct. 12, from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Saturday, Oct. 13, from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Green Out for Austin County 4-H

Saturday, Oct. 13, will be Green Out for Austin County 4-H Day for the 91st Annual Austin County Fair. The Board of Directors invite ALL attendees to wear 4-H Green Saturday to show support for 4-H and all they do to educate the kids – not just their members – on agricultural life in Austin County. 

Austin County Fair Country Store

The Austin County Fair’s Country Store will be opened with the following schedule:

Saturday, Oct. 6 – 3 to 8 p.m. 

Tuesday, Oct. 9 – 4 to 8 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 10 – 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Thursday, Oct. 11 – 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Friday, Oct. 12 – noon to 10 p.m. 

Saturday, Oct 13 – 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Sunday, Oct. 14 – 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Stampede set for Oct. 6

The sixth annual Austin County Fair 5K Stampede will be held Saturday, October 6th beginning at 9:00 a.m. – registration 8:30 a.m.  Participants can also pre-register at www.active.com or www.austincountyfair.com. Participants who register by Friday, September 28th will receive a T-shirt. Registration Fee: $25 adults; $15 for children 10 and under.  

First, second and third place winners will receive an award in each category. First, second and third overall winner will receive an award. Winners will be announced at the ACF Queens contest later that evening starting at 5:30 p.m.
