The Sealy Lady Tigers moved to 6-2 in district play with a pair of wins last week. Sealy started the week by hitting the 30-win barrier for the season with a sweep of Wharton at home.

Faith Academy’s 2023 Homecoming game vs Faith West Academy was played at Sab Stadium on Sept. 29. Earlier in the day at the HOCO pep rally, the King was crowned to be followed by the crowning of the Queen at the game’s halftime. The Faith Academy 2023 Homecoming King and Queen are Noah Figueroa and Noelle Walker.

The Brazos Cougars cross country team competed in the Blackcat Invitational Cross-Country Meet on Thursday in Bay City. The varsity girls team finished fifth in the varsity girls’ race with 117 points.

Brazos fell to 1-2 in district play after suffering a 28-0 loss to East Bernard last Friday night on the Road. East Bernard held a 7-0 lead at the halftime break but was able to explode for 21 unanswered points in the second half to claim the win.

Last week, the Sealy Team Tennis team traveled to El Campo for their last district match of the season. “Sealy has really worked hard this season and improved a lot since their first match.

Cowboy Szymanski, owner of Phenix Knives, is celebrating his 20-year anniversary in Bellville’s historic 1891 Blacksmith Shop on Main Street. Back in 2003, Bellville’s Chamber of Commerce invited Cowboy to set up his historic blacksmithing demonstration in front of the old Blacksmith Shop for the Heritage Gathering (some may remember the longhorn drive on Main Street).

The Sealy Lady Tigers junior high squads took on Navasota last week and all four teams walked away with a victory. The scores were as follows: • 7th grade B won 25-21 and 25-9 • 7th grade A won 25-8 and 25-11 • 8th grade B won 25-13 and 25-11 • 8th grade A won 25-15 and 25-11 In the 8th grade A team game these ladies had some outstanding stats: • Lauren Luther – three kills, five aces, five digs, and two blocks • Lila Meyer- one kill and three digs • Ava Carr – three aces, one kill and one dig • Julissa Olvera – three aces and two digs • Paige Stanford – one kill and one dig • Chloe Reynolds – one ace, one dig and one kill • Kali Bradford – six aces, one kill and three digs • Julia Lechler – one ace, four kills and one block The 8th grade B team has some great serving during the match as well.
