Coming into the district meet last week at Sealy High School, Sealy Head Cross Country Coach Danielle Eschenburg wanted her teams to do their best but not focus on finishing first at the event. “We went into the district meeting knowing we only had to finish in the top three to get to regionals,” Eschenburg said.

Coming into last Friday’s matchup with Bellville, the Sealy Tigers and their coaching staff knew the mountain they were about to face. The Brahmas are ranked 16th in state polls and are considered one of the better teams in the region and last Friday at the Pasture of Pain, they showed the Tigers why are they are so highly regarded.

The playoff door for the Sealy Tigers is slightly open, but now it’s time for the Tigers to rise up and kick that door wide open. With three games left in the District 10-4A season, Sealy has no room for error as they enter this stretch run.

Faith Academy hosted their 5th Annual Cross-Country Meet, Saturday, Oct. 14.

The Lady Knights were in San Antonio Oct. 12-14 playing in the TAIAO Regional Championships. The Lady Knights started the weekend out on a roll posting wins against Town East Christian (2513,25-6) BACH (25-11,254) Gloria Deo (22-25, 25-23).

The Sealy Junior High Lady Tigers played La Grange on Thursday Oct. 12 to finish the first round of district play.

The battle for bragging rights in Austin County takes place this Friday night in Bellville as Sealy travels to the Pasture of Pain for a District 10 matchup. “They are a heck of a football team.

The Sealy boys’ cross-country team captured first place at the District 25-4A Cross County Meet held at Sealy High School. The Sealy varsity girls captured second place at the district meet.
