After starting the district season with a big win over Bellville, the Sealy Tigers have dropped three in a row in District 25-4A action. And while most coaches might be concerned with it, Sealy Head Boys Basketball Coach Austin Kilman said he just wants his players this year to be pleased with how they are playing and how the team is progressing this year.

Lady Tigers’ crowned Battle of Bernard tournament champions

The Sealy Lady Tigers secured their first piece of silverware this season after edging out the Cypress Park Tigers 1-0 in the Battle of Bernard Tournament Championship game Jan. 13 Sealy came into Saturday’s game against Cypress Park on a hot four game winning streak, having scored 15 goals and conceded only one on route to the final.

Post-season honors

Sealy placed 10 players on the first and second team all-district teams for District 10-4A while district champion and state finalist Bellville placed 12 players on the team including capturing the District MVP and Offensive MVP honors. Sealy sophomore Cooper Osborne captured the Newcomer of the Year honors out of the district.

The Sealy girl’s softball all-stars took center stage in the community with their run to the Softball World Series to begin the second half of sports in Austin County. The month was concluded as the Bellville Brahmas made a run all the way to the Class 4A Division II state championship game in Arlington where the Brahmas fell short to Gilmer 28-26.
