The Brazos ISD Board of Trustees formally offered the Superintendent contract to Scott Rogers during its June 17 regular meeting at the Brazos ISD Administration Building. Rogers was named the lone finalist at the May 26 regular meeting.

Rogers spent the previous two school years at Red Oak ISD, just south of Dallas. He joined the district in 2019 as Executive Director of Secondary Learning then most recently served as Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction. Before that, he was the principal at Rockport-Fulton High School near Corpus Christi and was named Texas Association of Secondary School Principals’ Principal of the Year for Region 2 in the 2018-2019 school year.

The contract offer came after an executive session which followed an open session where the two action items on the agenda were approved for the 2021-2022 school year: student-athletic insurance and TASB Property, Casualty and Liability Insurance renewal.

The board also heard a presentation on and discussed facility needs and summer projects around the district as well as approved its consent agenda. At the start of the open session, Interim Superintendent David Plymale was recognized for his efforts.
