The Sealy High School varsity girls’ volleyball team competed in the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District tournament Aug. 25-27 and won five of seven games.
This week the Faith Lady Knights traveled to San Marcos to face off with Hill Country Lady Rams. The Lady Knights fell to the Lady Rams in 3 straight sets: 19-25, 22-25, 24-26. Freshman Jayla Jackson, MB, rose to the occasion and put up season high numbers with 11 kills, 4 blocks & 3 Aces. “She was our go to tonight, and kept us in reach each set, we just struggled getting things done from the back row.”
The Faith Academy Cross Country Team ran in the Bellville Meet on Saturday, September 3rd. The race was held at the Bellville Golf Course. Faith Academy was the only 1A Private School in attendance, the other 10 teams were 3A & 4A Public Schools. The course wrapped around the 18 hole Golf Course where the runners were challenged with the up and down slopes that are built into the interior part of the course and the different holes.
JASON.MANAGO-GRAVES@SEALYNEWS.COM CARMINE — Although it was the start of the Labor Day weekend, the Brazos High School volleyball team didn’t take a vacation in their matchup on the road against the Round Top-Carmine Lady Cubs Sept. 2.
KOUNTZE — In the second game of the season, the Kountze High School Lions remained scoreless at the end of the game with Brazos High School winning 33-0. The major playmakers for the Cougars traveling from Wallis were Bryson Bennett, Rafael Almaraz and Jarvse Dickerson.
Last night September 1st, the Lady Tigers traveled to Caldwell for their opening game of the season. The 7th grade A team took the court first, and for these young athletes it was their first volleyball game as Lady Tigers and there were many nerves starting the game.
Saturday, Aug. 27, The Brazos Cougars cross country team competed in the Brazos High School Invitational Cross Country Meet. Rain showers prior to the event made the course muddy, however participants still managed to compete.
