The Sealy 7th Grade Lady Tigers traveled to Navasota recent and played an amazing game, but due to some very unfortunate circumstances they fell short to the Lady Rattlers with the scores of 25-8, 27-29, 8-15. “These young ladies learned a very valuable lesson in overcoming a huge obstacle and fighting back. They just could not overcome rowdy obnoxious fans. Good news is last night they played amazing volleyball and coach is super proud of them,” said Sealy 7th Grade Volleyball Coach Angie Kram.

Brazos pulls off historic win over East Bernard

Body
For the first time since 2003, the Brazos Cougars faced off against East Bernard and walked off the field celebrating a win. Brazos exploded for 21 points in the second half to claim a 31-13 win over the Brahmas and move to 2-1 in District 14-3A while East Bernard fell to 0-2 in district play with the loss. “It was phenomenal for our kids, our community and our coaching staff. Our kids did a heck of a job and our coaching staff did a great job,” said Brazos Head Football Coach Ryan Roecker. “It was awesome.” The win over the perennial powerhouse East Bernard was big for a program that has struggled on the football field in recent years. “When we started the week, we just focused on us. We knew we couldn’t overcome 50 years of tradition in one game. We knew we weren’t playing the 50 other teams over the years but just playing the 2022 version and a kid in a jersey. I think our kids bought into that and I told them before the game this isn’t a shock the world situation. People say that when they are in negative situations that they know they can’t win. We prepared for this. Our seniors were 9-1 as freshmen and we have spent four years working on changing the tide and culture of this program. We just had to be ourselves and do what we had to do to win. This is a confidence that can never be taken away from this team. I told them we have a chance to change a community,” Roecker said.
