The Faith Academy track team ran at the Swamp Relays on the Rice Consolidated campus in Garwood March 24. Ten teams from the surrounding counties were represented.

In the team standings, the Lady Knights – with only two girls – placed fifth in the girls’ JV Division. Freshman Elizabeth Walker won the pole vault and 300-meter hurdles – where she cut almost seven seconds off her previous best time – and registered third in the 100-meter hurdles. Sophomore Summer Bright medaled in the 800-meter run in third place.

In the boys’ Varsity Division, junior Joshua Bright provided a personal-record time in the 800-meter run and earned fourth place in 2:13.41, a two-second improvement. Junior classmate Austin Browning took fourth in the 110-meter hurdles and sophomore Noah Figueroa finished sixth in the shot put.

In the boys’ JV Division, junior Beck Briggs registered fourth in the 800-meter run and the 4x200-meter relay team of Briggs, sophomore Luke Wicklein, Bright and Browning also finished fourth.

The Knight track teams will compete in two meets next week: Fayetteville on Thursday and Giddings on Friday.
