The Sealy golf teams opened their season last Wednesday at the Navasota Invitational Tournament and the Tigers’ top team came away with first place in the team competition behind Ethan Doyle’s individual championship.

The Sealy Tiger tennis team opened its season last Friday at the Brazosport Tournament and came back with a silver medal from the A Boys’ Doubles bracket and a gold medal from the B Boys’ Doubles circuit in addition to a pair of fourth-place individual finishes.

Although Sealy erased a 12-0 deficit to Royal in the first half, the Lady Tigers were unable to overcome its early shortfall and lost to the visiting Falcons 67-51 to sit at 3-4 within District 24-4A entering this week of play.

Sealy junior defensive lineman William Forrester was among the honorees to earn a spot on a Padilla Poll All-State team, as voted on by Class 4A Division II coaches. Forrester was a force in the trenches and was recognized as one of 19 on the second-team defense.

On a busy Friday night of sports where four teams hosted games across Sealy ISD, the Lady Tiger soccer team kicked things off with a 5-0 win over Hempstead to open play within District 20-4A. Sealy had a quick turnaround and beat Rice 4-0 Monday and will once again host the first of four Friday home games to end this week of play against Harmony School of Discovery.

Hempstead, the Sealy Tiger soccer team erased a I the nightcap of the soccer district-opener with six-game losing streak and a five-game scoreless skid en route to a 5-0 win over the Bobcats to open play within District 20-4A.

The fourth and final Sealy home game last Friday pitted the Tigers and Navasota Rattlers against each other on the basketball court in District 24-4A action and the visitors emerged with a 42-28 victory after a big third quarter.

In between soccer games, the Sealy Lady Tiger basketball squad tipped off against Navasota as part of the fourgame Friday night frenzy at home last week. The visitors earned a 55-41 win to drop Sealy to 2-3 after one round of play within District 24-4A, which left the Lady Tigers in fourth place entering this week of play.
